Greetings from Moscow! We are so happy to be here. We had a successful flight. We are blessed with a child that travels well, so far anyway. We have found that when Benjamin is in a new and strange situation he gets pretty quiet and just sits and takes everything in. That is much of our success with the first flight. We’ll see how crazy flights 2 and 3 get. Ed and I had some adventurous mishaps traveling for the first time as parents, but we, our son, our baggage and all of our important paperwork managed to make it.
One part of the trip that still makes us laugh is Benjamin eating a sucker. The Dr. said it would be a good thing for helping with the pressure on his ears. I reckon we figured he would eat just like us, but no. Here is how it was different:
· Saliva and sucker juices drooled instead of swallowed.
· Using sucker to test soundness of forehead.
· Sucking whole hand at the same time as the sucker.
· Enjoying the stick for an hour or so.
This was most likely his first sucker.
We are staying at a Holiday Inn. We feel like we are in the lap of luxury. We are not ones to mind roughing it a bit, but we were happy to have the 2 weeks in Novosibirsk come to an end and start heading home. Since this is a Western-style hotel, it is a nice transition place for Ben before seeing and hearing America. We turn on English TV now and then for the sound and there are a couple of other American couples we have met. Tomorrow we along with another family will be doing some sightseeing. The American Embassy is closed on Christmas Day, so it is a day off for us, as it would be at home too.
It’s sure exciting to be celebrating Christmas with our new son.

It's Monday afternoon here and we are waiting for Grandma and Grandpa to arrive...then church at 5pm.
Charlie got a keyboard with a microphone for Christmas. He loves to sing into it. Kinda reminds me of Ed doing Karoke at Christmas in WA!

We had a great snow storm yesterday and are expecting some almost every day this week. So it will be nice and white for you when you return and lots of snow for Ben to play in. I think a snowman in the back yard would be great fun!
